...just when it seemed that music would never be quite the same...
...along comes a band, and another band, and yet one more band, and again, the great beast arises from its hibernation.
Welcome back, Rock n Roll...where the hell have you been for the last damned decade? Yeesh! Now, I am not gonna sit here and tell you that there have not been a lot of impressive bands formed, but those bands never stay around long enough to make a difference in the stagnant air that hangs in the balance of the in-between-ness of what used to be known as rock music.
I am a great lover of rock music. I always have been. There is not one singular thing about it that I like better - it is just the music that I grew up with. And lemme tell you what - I grew up with the best music that there was to listen to. Even my kids like my music much better than what is called music these days (Come on...the Jonas Brothers? That kid with the bowl haircut??? Bieber something...and do NOT get me started on anyone from High School Musical or anything else that is attributable to that great 'talent' machine which rhymes with 'Miss Me'...)
At any rate, this is the flagship post for this part of my blogging world. Ear Candy, also known as Roxie's Music Blog, has been created so that the local bands here in my area can be heard by a wider audience. Of course, I would love, love, love to do interviews and write reviews for the bigger names and well, if I got the chance to just get an interview with one of the greats - Robert Plant, specifically - I would just pee my pants!!
SO, in knowing this much, if you know a group of musicians (it's called a band...get it straight, and no, I do not consider any 'band' which was created in the great corporate machine which rhymes with 'his knee' ) whose music rocks or simply just stirs you in a way that no music has, let me know !! Gotta send me the name, their band links where I can find music samples, and of course I want to know when they are playing!!!
